As the clear up begins in earnest, the residents of the Riviera are being urged to seek assistance where available for property damage, as well as emotional trauma.

- The French government has officially declared the area to be a natural disaster zone.
- You should contact your insurance company immediately with details of property damage.
- Tap water is safe to drink.
- Rail services and transport links will continue to be disrupted so check details before you travel.
- Counsellors have been made available for those who are suffering from psychological trauma.
- Repairs to telephone lines, including broadband internet, could take up to two weeks.
